Transmedia Practices

Being introduced to Blender encouraged me to explore new possibilities within the program. I filmed and edited the footage in iMovie before importing the file into Blender as a background and simply used the "grease pencil" tool to trace the images and draw on the images in frames. I am very interested in illustration based work as well as video editing so I used this project as an opportunity to combine my interests with this newly introduced program. I worked with a friend and used his music, he also had some input as to what kind of vibe he was interested in achieving, to match with his music. The electro sounding, repetitive track seemed fitting with the clubbing scene which lead me on to explore drug culture. The scratched out/ scrambled effect was to to give the illusion of protecting the identities of the 'users' as well as to express how one can lose a sense of their self whilst under the influence.
Snippets of things we learnt over our time in the Module.
The two programs I used, and how I used them.
I was interested by the choppy style of this video.
I used Antonio's website for reference to glitch art as I initially planned on implementing that style.
The style of this music video inspired me to create similar.
Disclosure, the music duo have popularised this style as well.
